"It Takes A liitle More To Be A JAGUAR"
JAGUAR’S
FLAG FOOTBALL

The Live Oak Jaguars Flag Football team is coming off of another successful season and looks forward to continuing the success in 2008.  Flag football is the first experience that most kids have with playing organized football and the difference between the first week of practice and the last game of the year is very noticeable.  The game of football is an excellent opportunity to teach young kids the value of hard work, determination, commitment, persistence, discipline, sportsmanship and TEAM WORK.  The coaches can seem a bit harsh at times but there is a purpose behind the methods, not just for football but for school, home and life in general.  TYFA is not a mandatory play league. The coaching staff works hard to play as many of the kids as possible each game but players must earn the right to play through hard work at practice.  As with most youth sports practice is when the kids learn the most so it is important that players be present for every practice.  The Jaguar’s Flag Football Coaching Staff looks forward to teaching your kids the game of football and appreciates the opportunity to coach them.

2007 Jaguars Flag notes:
*  The team developed a defense that kept all of the games within one score.  The defense allowed more than 20 points only twice during the whole season.  The defense also put up two shutouts against teams that went on to finish first or second in their districts.  The Jaguars were one of only seven teams in our Region of 23 teams to allow fewer than 100 points for the entire season.  The Jaguars Defense averaged giving up only 11 points per game.

*  The Jaguars offense scored 21 Touchdowns in 2007, 14 on running plays and 7 on passing plays.  There were seven different players who scored touchdowns for the Jaguars.  The Jaguars won one game in overtime against an undefeated team that went on to win their district.  The Jaguars were not shutout all season long.  The offense averaged scoring 18 points per game in 2007.

*  The Jaguars finished the season 5-3 and played against 7 teams that went to the playoffs, three of which won their districts.  The Jaguars played against 5 undefeated teams and went 2-3, losing two of the three by one touchdown.  The Jaguars advanced to the second round of the playoffs before losing to an undefeated Red Raiders team that was 7-0 and had scored 296 points while only giving up 6 all season.

*  The Jaguars played in the toughest TYFA Flag District in 2007.  5 of the 6 teams made the playoffs and 3 of them made it to the third round of the playoffs.  Two of the teams made it to the semifinals and one of them won the TYFA Championship.  The Jaguars district had more teams over .500 than any other District and almost all of the losses were a result of the teams beating each other.  It is the “Black and Blue” District of TYFA Flag Football.

Once again, we look forward to a successful 2008 and hope that everyone comes out to be a part of the JAGUAR TRADITION!!

WELCOME TO OUR JUNGLE!!!
